Harris, Phil (Retired)
Retired missionary Debi Harris went home to be with the Lord June 18, 2023 after a long illness. A Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, July 8th at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd., Hurst, Texas, 76053.
Phil and Debi Harris were approved as World Baptist Fellowship missionaries in July, 1975. They served in the country of Brazil for 37 years.
They were approved in May 2012 to start a new ministry called "Destiny Changers". This ministry is to be a help to local churches on the mission field and be a challenge to churches in the States. Many times on the field a work is slow moving forward because of a need. "Destiny Changers" desires to take up these projects and help move them forward; thus seeing the lives and destiny of many changed. Anyone involved in spreading the Word will be changed! They would like to take work teams from the States to go help on the field with the needed project, being involved in Evangelism projects, and /or raising funds for the needs in the local church. They believe when that happens that will be a "Destiny Changer" in each life involved regardless of nationality.
Phil was saved in June, 1957, at the age of seven. Debi was led to Christ by her Sunday School teacher in 1964.
Phil graduated from Arlington Baptist College in 1973. He and Debi were married in 1970 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Messiah Baptist Church of Richland Hills, Texas is their sending church.
Phil and Debi have two children - Dawn and Aaron.
